It’s ALMOST summer- can you taste it???  School is almost out, but before you cut loose for summer, we want to give you ONE little push for next year’s prep and talk about  the dreaded ESSAY!  Boooooo.  No one likes writing their college essays!  It can be really hard.  Stressful.  Time consuming.  BORING!  

BUT!  You have to do them if you want to get into your dream school, and we are teaming up with a very special chick who will help you make it fun, and add a theatrical twist for everyone’s enjoyment!

On Monday May 20 at 8pm EST, we will be hanging out online with performer turned essay guru Rosie Colosi of writewithrosie.com!  She will drop some sweet tips on how to write a fabulous essay and answer any questions you have about the process.  Rosie has helped students get into fancy schools like Harvard, Vanderbilt, and Columbia, and she can help you too!

From GODSPELL to RENT to SPIDER MAN and now KINKY BOOTS, Baldwin Wallace grad Kyle Post seems like he has it all figured out.  But in our Google Hangout, Kyle shared with us the truth about his journey to Broadway:

He came from a small town with LIMITED TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES.

He got REJECTED from his dream school.

He waited a year and APPLIED AGAIN.

He got WAIT LISTED.

And finally, HE GOT IN.

MT College Prep founders Tom Burke and Erika Shannon chat with Broadway performer Leah Hofmann about her time in WAR HORSE, her college experience as a non-musical theater major, and how she conquered the New York theatre scene anyway!  Anyone debating whether or not they are ready for a musical theatre college program- WATCH THIS VIDEO.  Leah has great advice!

Erin knows performing.  She went to University of Illinois as a dance major, and since graduating has performed on both coasts on stage, screen, and TV.  You may have seen her on “Mad Men”, “The Sopranos”, “Sex and the City”, “Chappelle’s Show”, or “The Today Show”, as well as Off-Broadway in THE DONKEY SHOW and THE KARAOKE SHOW. 

Erin knows writing.  She is a master of improv, and has written and performed in her one-woman show, THE LAST GOOD GIRL, in NYC.

Erin knows performers.  Her passion is mentoring and coaching performing artists and entrepreneurs, by giving them practical techniques and strategies that book them more jobs and produce more confidence in their work, business and life.  Her latest brainchild, Magical Manifesters, has attracted clients like our own Co-Founder Erika Shannon, and star of GHOST on Broadway, Caissie Levy, among many others. 

Erin wants to help you get into school too.  Take her up on it by hanging out with her (and us) on Tuesday!
